BUILD "A WORLD WORTHY OF GOD"
CASTEL GANDOLFO, AUGUST 25 (ZENIT.org)
The slogan coined by John Paul
II, to be artisans of peace and fraternity, expressed his hope to 108
citizens of Guinea Conakry who came to Rome to celebrate the Jubilee and
were received in audience today at the pontifical residence in Castel
Gandolfo.
During the meeting, the Holy Father pointed out the most important
moments of a pilgrimage to Rome: the crossing of the Holy Door, and
visit to the Apostles' tombs. However, these African pilgrims are also
on their way to the Holy Land, a 2000-year journey of faith that is a
sign "to renew fidelity on the road that leads to Christ," the Pontiff
explained.
The days of prayer in the Christian places of Rome and Palestine, must
help this group of pilgrims to return to their country with the will to
"work tirelessly to build a world worthy of man and worthy of God,
paying attention to justice and solidarity," the Pontiff emphasized.
