WHO WE ARE
    MIR-A-CALL Center, a non-profit spiritual resource center, is the parent organization for the CATHOLIC-INTERNET NETWORK and the DAILY CATHOLIC. These apostolates are dedicated to spreading God's Word through Sacred Scripture and the Teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

MIR-A-CALL Center is an authorized non-profit organization, fully approved by the IRS under the Internal Revenue code in section 501 (c) (3) with the Tax Exempt ID of 58-1976694. Under this regulation all contributions to MIR-A-CALL Center and its subsidiaries -the CATHOLIC-INTERNET NETWORK, A Call To Peace, and the DAILY CATHOLIC are TAX DEDUCTIBLE! The Center is regulated by the rules set down by the IRS and assisted by a distinguished Board of Directors who have appointed Michael Cain in the triple capacity of Executive Director of MIR-A-CALL Center, Editor-in-chief of the DAILY CATHOLIC and webmaster for the CATHOLIC-INTERNET NETWORK. He served as print editor of A Call To Peace for seven years before ceasing publication of that print periodical to concentrate solely on the DAILY CATHOLIC on the web. Below are short biographies on the current Board of Directors.

PRINCIPALS

Donald Geronime,
Chairman of the Board
Donald Geronime, the Chairman of the Board for MIR-A-CALL Center, is a resident of Bella Vista, Arkansas. He was elected to serve as Chairman of the Board in 1994. Married for 37 years to wife Mary Lou, the Geronimes have 7 children and three grandchildren. Originally from Rosemount,Minnesota where he operated a successful dairy farm enterprise for many years, Don and Mary Lou retired to Bella Vista in the Spring of 1991 where they continue to be very active in pro-life work which they have been involved in since the infamous decision of Roe vs. Wade on January 22, 1973.

Mary Lou Geronime,
Treasurer and Secretary
With husband Donald, Mary Lou Geronime has been an integral part of MIR-A-CALL Center since 1991. She has been the backbone for volunteer services and a strong link to the administrative side. For years she was responsible for sending out bulk and keeping subscriptions up-to-date as well as fielding phone calls from all over the country. Her proofreading skills have become legendary. She and husband Don are active members of their parish and leaders in Our Lady of Refuge Prayer Group in Bella Vista.
Kenneth Greiner,
Board of Directors
Kenneth Greiner has been an active member of the Board since its inception. A resident of Oklahoma City, he's founder & president of Amity Care Corporation comprising over 20 nursing homes in Oklahoma. With a Masters from Harvard, Ken has served on the Boards of Banks, Universities, Hospitals, Catholic Social Ministries, State and National Associations. He is currently President of the National Association of Boards of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators. He and wife Leitner are active in their parish, serving as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist.
Leitner Greiner,
Board of Directors
Leitner Greiner, like husband Kenneth, is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. She has been a board director of MIR-A-CALL Center since the Board was formed. Leitner is the jovial mother of four grown children with seven grandchildren. A valuable community worker volunteering her services throughout Oklahoma City, she is extremely active in the Diocesan Stewardship Committee and has served on the Parish Council, PTA Boards and the Board of Directors for Birth Choice of Oklahoma City. She is also a regular member of St. Barbaras Rosary Group.
Hank Schlapkohl,
Board of Directors
Hank Schlapkohl hails originally from Iowa City where he worked for 29 years for Proctor and Gamble as Traffic Manager and Consignment Warehousing Manager. Long an avid golfer, Hank and wife Maxine retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas in the summer of 1988 lured by that area's inviting verdant and plentiful golf courses. In addition, Hank is a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and serves his parish as Lector, Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and Altar Server as well as serving on the Parish Council. Both Hank and Maxine are active in promoting Enthronement to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Maxine Schlapkohl,
Board of Directors
Maxine Schlapkohl is the mother of four children and three grandchildren. Several years ago Maxine was miraculously healed of a brain tumor while in Medjugorje. Married for over 45 years, she and husband Hank have just finished their dream home in Bella Vista that includes a special garage just for their battery-powered golf cart. Maxine worked for many years as a Secretary for the University of Iowa, and now is very active as a Lay Minister for the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Homes as well as Our Lady of Refuge Prayer Group.
Father Al Svobodny, OMI,
Spiritual Director
Father Al Svobodny, a Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate priest, is Spiritual Director for the Center and therefore an automatic member of the Center's Board of Directors. Father Al is experienced in both pastoral and missionary work and has administrative and promotional background as Vocations Director for the Oblates' Central Province and working at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois. A native of Minneapolis, this priest of nearly 47 years has been on the Board of Directors since the Center was founded in August 1990. For more on Father Al, see Spiritual Director.
Michael Cain,
Executive Director
As the appointed day-to-day hands-on Executive Director for MIR-A-CALL Center, Michael Cain is automatically a member of the Center's Board of Directors. Because of his background and calling, the Board of Directors have also designated him as Editor of the Daily CATHOLIC on the CATHOLIC-INTERNET NETWORK and handles webmaster duties for the vastly growing web ministry. He is former editor of A Call To Peace which suspended printing this past December after seven years in print, to devote more time to the Daily CATHOLIC.
