Saddam and Clinton are cut from the same cloth
woven by a tailor named satan!

In our Tuesday editorial we devoted the entire article to the sad situation of William Jefferson Clinton and the similarities of Clinton with King Herod of Jesus' time. Today, after the attrocious action by this psuedo "Commander-in-chief" we can see another notorious historical figure whom he personifies - Nero, the mad emperor who, to save his own derrier, put the blame on the Christians for burning Rome. Do you see the similiarities here, folks?

Nero gained the highest position of the Roman Empire by conniving, lying and orchestrating the deaths of those who stood in his way; Clinton gained the highest position in the land by conniving and being implicated in mysterious deaths of numerous allies who were expendable or might be a liability to his ambitions as well as foes who stood in his way. If you question this, we refer you to our September 15th editorial in volume 9, no. 180 issue. Nero was preceded by Claudius Caesar who, though he had many faults, was kinder and more tolerable toward the Christians; Clinton was preceded by George Bush who's platform was a "kinder generation and nation" and who was not only tolerable toward pro-lifers but helped espouse the cause of the innocent unborn - God's angels. Both emperors were faced with a decline in morality that was causing the great empire to begin crumbling from within; both presidents were faced with a decline in morality that is causing this great nation to begin crumbling from within. While Caesar and Bush, feeble though they were in many degrees, strove to curb the decline, Nero and Clinton not only did nothing to curb the decline but showed no shame in leading lives of debauchery and immoral behavior at the expense of others. The actions of both latter tyrants is documented. We say "feeble" regarding Bush because he could have been much stronger for the pro-life cause and he could have ended the anxiety of the American and Iraqi people by removing Saddam Hussein when he had the chance back in 1990. We all know that the Iraqi soldiers had lost the will to fight and "sadem," as Bush consistently called the Baghdad despot derisively, was ripe for the taking. But, by withdrawing the troops and failing to depose Saddam not only allowed this evil Arab to regroup and begin anew in manufacturing chemical, biological and even nuclear weapons of destruction, but also to continue his tyranny of the Iraqi people. It also gave credence to the contention that the Gulf War was fought for the specific, greed-oriented purpose of controlling the oil! Don't think for a moment Hussein suffered from the embargo placed on Iraq by the United States. He has lived "high on the hog" with no regard whatsoever for the people. It is the innocent Iraqi people who have suffered for two decades under this madman who has sacrificed thousands of Kurds and others for his own selfish, satanic purposes, just as Nero sacrificed thousands of Christians and others for his own selfish, satanic purposes, and just as Clinton has sacrificed millions of unborn babies and others - such as our military troops and countless Iraqi people for his own selfish, satanic purposes.

This is a sad, sad time for all Americans. We are embarassed by the character and actions of our leader and we flatly state, he is wrong. We cannot abide by the axiom, "my country, right or wrong!" Why? Because there is a higher Authority we all must answer to and most of what these "lower authorities" advocate or legislate go against God's law. Clinton has constantly flaunted in the face of everyone his disrespect for God's laws, espousing the tripe hypocritical talk in calling upon God's Holy Name. That, in itself, is an affront to every last Christian in this land. That, in itself, according to the charter drawn up by our founding fathers is enough grounds for impeachment. Clinton, who lives by the polls could see he was losing ground as more and more moderate Republicans announced they would vote for impeachment. How could he stave off the inevitable? Create a diversion. It was fiction in the movie "Wag the Dog"; it is the shocking truth on December 18th, 1998! If you believe it was just a coincidence that Clinton, without consulting Congress as the Constitution calls for, commenced bombing on the eve of impeachment, then there's some beachfront property in Utah you may be interested in! Why, after eight years of Saddam's ploys, does the president pull the trigger on the morning of December 16th? Why, after pleas for peace from the Chaldean Patriarch of Baghdad and the Holy Father, as well as many other world and religious leaders, would Clinton slap everyone in the face and go against measures of peace by declaring war? Why did this come a day after the Pope had released his papal message for January's 1st World Day of Peace? Why did this come the day Clinton returned from Bethlehem? Remember, our title of Tuesday's editorial - "O little town of Bethlehem. Beware!" For the Blessed Virgin Mary has prophesied to so many of her chosen messengers that this would come. Why has Clinton gone against all common sense and logic? The answer is simple: Clinton will do anything that is politically expedient, including sacrificing millions of lives and flat-out lying to everyone for his own selfish, satanic purposes and stalling for time, trying to stretch out this "expedient war" until the new Congress begins session in January. If he can stall Congress that long then vote-wise he has a better chance of escaping impeachment and so, irregardless of the millions of people "in harm's way" (a favorite spin of the liberals), he will sacrifice his own country for his own hide. Nero sacrificed Rome for his own hide.

We are so sick and tired of hearing the liberals' rhetoric that the troops will be so demoralized if the president is impeached. Rather the opposite will occur. It will re-energize the troops. This editor's own experiences in the Air Force as an Information Officer confirms this presumption. While serving during the Vietnam War, our Commander-in-chief was Lyndon B. Johnson, a man for whom this editor had no respect as a politician, a military leader or a moral leader. Yet, because he was head of the armed forces we had to be so careful what we said since to speak out against the Commander-in-chief was paramount to treason. Yet you wouldn't believe the cheers and celebrations at bases around the world when LBJ announced he would not run again. Our morale shot up overnight. In any organization, if you have no respect for the man in charge, those underlings will not have their heart in it. The Iraqi soldiers in Desert Storm are a good example. The morale of the troops in the gulf in 1990-1991 was gung-ho and it showed from the leadership of Bush, delegating all authority to knowledgable, competent military leaders like General Norman Schwarzkopf to the swift deployment of ground troops which helped ensure innocent civilians were protected. Compare that to the morale of the troops in the gulf today. Throughout the Clinton regime military spending has been cut alarmingly; throughout the Clinton regime military respect for the Commander-in-chief has been lip-service only because, deep down a true military man cannot respect a turncoat. Doesn't it strike you as strange that we must be respectful of the Islam feast of Ramadan without giving even a thought to the majority of American troops' and their families' observance of Christmas, one of the most sacred of feasts and thee day where Peace is the theme? Whereas in the first years of this decade, ground troops were employed as a means of assuring the safety of the innocent, in the last years of this decade we see no evidence of this safeguard. Think about it. How can they take out Saddam this time without sending in ground troops to Baghdad and eliminating his loyal Republican guard? Missiles and bombs aren't going to do it. What that will do is kill hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi people while Saddam eludes the military net just as Clinton is eluding his just punishments. Do you honestly think there are even 10% of the troops who are willing to fight and die for Bill Clinton? No way! Remember it was people like Clinton and Jane Fonda who openly berated our troops and sided with the enemy. Both profited from what this country offers without paying a price as most other citizens have done.

But there is an even greater price to pay for our inhuman and tyrannical action taken against the innocent Iraqi people. Just recall what the Almighty did throughout the history of mankind when a nation or leader disregarded God's laws and disregarded respect for human life. So also with America. Yes, we are Americans and should be patriotic, but we are Catholics first and foremost. It doesn't matter if we are Republican, Democrat or whatever party. We must be united in one cause: God's cause for, as said above, we must answer to a higher Authority. We cannot, in good conscience, support the American strategy in this latest manufactured crisis. Therefore, we join the Chaldean Catholic leader in Iraq Patriarch Raphael I Bidawid and His Holiness Pope John Paul II in strongly condemning the attacks on Iraq. Yes, Saddam Hussein has sold his soul to satan; nevertheless, by disregarding God's laws and respect for His children of all races, Clinton has placed our country in harm's way...everlasting harm's way! Why not send the head of Iraq and the head (for now) of America into battle one-on-one. Then we can't lose! Like Herod and Nero, and yes, Adolf Hitler, too, Saddam and Clinton are cut from the same cloth woven by a tailor named satan!
