This is our opportunity to storm Heaven with our Rosaries during this month. Think of the number of souls you will all be able to deliver from Purgatory into the Glory of Heaven through your Hail Mary's. They won't forget you!!!
While plenty of good Catholics are riled over that ruling, clear across the country in Sacramento, California the California Supreme Court also issued a ruling yesterday claiming that any employer has the obligation under law to protect the fetus in the mother's womb, and if said employer does not protect the fetus, then when the fetus is born said fetus may sue said employer for any and all injuries done while in the womb. Though this ruling is in favor of the fetus, it still borders on the ridiculous much like the absurdity in Florida. It brings up the supposition that the 19 year old mother in the Florida State Supreme Court ruling is an employer. Her job (should she wish to accept it...which she did not) is to nurture in the womb the fertilized egg and sperm that is now a definite human being with a soul. Remember, this is a business; the mother-to-be is an employer, and the baby in her womb is the employee; as the employee the unborn child has the right, according to the California State Supreme Court ruling, to sue the employer (mother) for not offering protection while on the job in the womb.
As outlandish as this may seem and the rash of endless lawsuits that could follow as a result of the latter ruling, think about the repercussions legally if this holds up and "business" is defined. Is it possible the concept of "business" will be extended to include the "business of living"? If so, then we would be able to hold the mother who has an abortion legally responsible by the state as well as morally responsible before God. This hypothesis would be the answer to stopping abortion once and for all because it would be a crime in the eyes of the state. We already know it's a crime in the eyes of God. If women were faced with jail or lawsuits do you think they would be so quick to kill their own? We think not.
On one coast the court does not recognize the fetus - even though the fetus in question was born alive; on the other coast the court does recognize the fetus but unfortunately did not go far enough for we doubt the California Supreme Court was thinking of God when they passed down this ruling but rather the law lobby. Both rulings are absolute nonsense. If this is blind justice, then Lady Justice needs a few braille lessons in logic, for if we are going to treat an unborn child as a customer of a business, what then does that make motherhood but a business, giving the unborn child the right to sue the heck out of mother, father, and society as a whole if he/she doesn't emerge in fantastic shape; that is, if he/she emerges from the womb at all, alive and breathing! The Fourth and Fifth Commandments be damned, greed and selfishness rule on both coasts. Logic seems to have taken another step toward the abyss, and it's taking all the lives of the unborn fetuses with it.
It is just more evidence that we cannot depend on the government to end abortion, only prayer as Our Lady has reiterated over and over. God alone can end the abomination and He will...but in His time!

Popular Irish Catholic Singer Dana who is best known from her appearances on EWTN, had been approached about running for President of Ireland once current controversial Irish president Mary Robinson steps down. But throwing her hat into the ring at such short notice would not have given her the time to mount a campaign or name recognition. Dana, whose given name is Rosemary Brown had mulled the idea over with her husband, an executive with EWTN, and her children who gave her their unconditional support providing she could muster the necessary parliamentary support. But it was too big a jump for this diminutive crooner of popular Catholic hymns who has grown in popularity through her music and regular appearances at Marian Conferences around the world and on Mother Angelica's traditional Roman Catholic communications group known as the Eternal Word Television Network and Eternal Word Radio Network. Dana is a model Catholic who began her singing career in 1970 in her native Ireland. Her talents landed her the coveted Eurovision Song Contest winner and she became well known throughout the British Isles and Ireland for her pop songs. However in the United States, where she now lives, she has become famous for her religious music. Dana, a novice to politics, realized her candidacy was contingent on walking a fine line in not thrusting her own personal Catholic beliefs on the people if she had been elected and she also desperately needed the support of twenty of the parliament members to guarantee a nomination. Because of this, she declined to run and that left it open for Mary McAleese to sweep into the chair.
The irony of McAleese's victory is that as a resident of Northern Ireland she was not eligible to vote in the election. However, because the constitution of the Republic of Ireland includes the northern province, she was eligible to be elected. It pinpointed the strong Irish nationality where Irish voters from the south reached across the borders so to speak, to elect McAleese, despite the turmoil in Northern Ireland. We can only hope she will follow in the principles advanced by Dana and not in her predecessor's mold who was an embarrasment to every good Irish Catholic citizen when Robinson openly lobbied for abortion and, during her term, has offended the Catholic Church including her lack of protocol in a recent private papal audience.

Their agenda was loaded, but one of the outstanding issues was the discussion of China’s policy on Human Rights, which has continued, through this century, to have a very negative worldwide public relations image.
With President Jiang Zemin here in the United States, and Clinton mum on China's Human Rights stance, it was left to US rep. Dick Armey,a staunch pro-life Republican congressman from Texas, to back Zemin into his own red corner by presenting the Chinese leader with a list of imprisoned religious leaders of the Roman Catholic Church, in an effort to underscore not only that country’s continued violation of Human Rights, but their continued violation of religious rights, particularly their intolerance of the Roman Catholic Church.
Though they were only seeing red, the Chinese government waved the white flag in front of the world, releasing Bishop Shu Zhimin. This Bishop had been imprisoned off and on for more than two decades for his refusal to renounce the authority of the pope. Recently, he was arrested again for visiting a Marian shrine. In his presentation, Armey gave to Zemin a list of other prisoners, all priests and bishops of the Roman Catholic Church who remain in prison, because of their faith.
Among those listed are: Bishop Jingo, Bishop An Shuxin, Bishop Johannes Han Ding Ziang; Bishop Joseph Fan Zhongliang; Bishop Casimir Wang Milu; Bishop Cosmas Shi Enxiang; Father Guo Bo Le, Bishop Julius Jia Zhigho, Bishop Joseph Li Side; Bishop Gu Zheng Mattia; Father Vincent Qin Guoliang; Father Liao Haiqing; and Father Peter Cui Zingang.
Certainly there are more religious prisoners, and countless civilian prisoners held unjustly by the Chinese government, now represented by Jiang Zemin. The release of Bishop Zemin does little, if nothing, to dismantle China’s violation of Human Rights. Even more soul-shaking remains the fact that with our present administrations continued policies on abortion, homosexuality and other moral and religious issues, it is unlikely that President Zemin will listen to or heed any advice from Bill Clinton.
What neither president seems to understand is that Human Rights are the privilege and duty of every society and government to protect. What they fail to realize is that no legislation on earth can totally secure a person’s Human Rights, because society as a whole is subjective, not objective in their view of individual rights, when those rights are moral and divinely given.
In view of the release of one prelate of the Roman Catholic Church are we to hope that China, which supports only its state-sanctioned Patriotic Catholic Association which renounced all ties with the Vatican, will openly embrace freedom of religion in their country? Are we to hope that in our own country, the expression of faith might once again be restored to its proper place and given the dignity it deserves?
Human Rights must and should be protected by the government and by the people it represents with this understanding foremost in mind: Human Rights are Divinely given by God; it is man who must protect that which is Divine! Otherwise he will ultimately see red in his own sizzling corner of hell!

For five weeks this abominable excuse for drama has wallowed in the basement. But that string will be broken this week; not because it will rise in its rankings but because it was pre-empted. And what pre-empted this program? Why the movie "Village of the Damned." That's appropriate for Disney and ABC seem to be stuck in their own village of the damned with their blatant attacks on morals and religion with their promotion of the blasphemous and vulgar movies Priests and Kids, as well as promoting homosexuality by canonizing the program Ellen which came out of the closet and into the dumper last spring with the outward promotion of the gay theme. ABC has been under such pressure recently from religious groups and outraged viewers that they have had to backtrack somewhat and make sure viewers know the material is offensive, much to the consternation of their new goddess Ellen Degenres - often called Degenerate for outwardly promoting an immoral and unnatural lifestyle. She makes no bones about her crusade to convert every child she can to the thinking that homosexuality is perfectly natural. Ah, how close we are to Sodom and Gomorrah...in fact even worse than those pitiful cities!
ABC and Disney have contributed greatly to this decline, but they're not alone. The rest of the networks are not much better, nor the media as a whole, nor the advertisers who promote immorality and ammorality in many, many products reeking with greed and lust. Priests and bishops must share some of the blame as well because they have remained silent when their position as leaders of the flock cried out for justice and to speak out for all that Jesus and His beloved Church teach. These parties have all contributed to the confusion and decline of morality. Is it any wonder why so many Catholics and even priests and bishops think Father Ray's role personifies what a priest should be - one who doubts his faith, has little respect for the Hierarchy, Teachings, Doctrines, Dogmas and Traditions of the Church and hasn't got a clue to the true meaning of the Sacraments!?! Pressure is on from the radical liberal modernists within the Church to keep this show on the air, but ABC is also under pressure to produce high-rated programs and Nothing Sacred is not filling the bill in their coffers. Look for it to be dropped soon, as pre-empting a show is the first sign there's trouble in river city. After all, when it comes to the question of ABC's own twisted principals and principles and the object of making more money...greed will win out everytime. Their worldly objectives are nothing in the eyes of God, and they have proven it with Nothing Sacred.
