While George W. Bush tries to properly prepare for presidential duties, we should all be preparing for Advent in the proper way

        In our editorial this week, as difficult as it is to veer away from the presidential election contesting period that permeates our airwaves, we strive to alert all that just as George W. Bush is endeavoring to get a clear cut decision in the courts in order to properly prepare for a smooth transition to the White House, so also we as dedicated Catholics must take this time to clear the cobwebs of confusion over the political process and turn our attention toward Christmas. This doesn't mean the secular sense of shopping and decorations, but rather to prepare by searching our hearts and decorate our souls with more graces through the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist. This time of year is habitually a time when the flu and cold bugs visit, and when satan is especially and furiously active. We know why. It is also the time of preparation for the glorious Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the evil one hates this feast day and those who honor her with this great title for all the obvious reasons that we explain in our editorial this week as well as an explanation of why lucifer assaulted our site and closed it down over the long Thanksgiving holiday.     On December 3rd, the First Sunday of Advent, we bring you Pope John Paul II's closing Homily for the Jubilee of Politicians given on November 5th in which he also officially proclaimed Saint Thomas More Patron Saint of Politicians and encouraged all elected officials to take their roles and responsibilities as servants before God and man very seriously and uphold the Laws God established. In addition, this is the 4th day of a special Novena in preparation for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, whom our country is consecrated to under Mary's protection.
