If it's Tuesday, it must be a Pilgrimage!
Under Italy's unforgiving sun poorly organized pilgrimages can go by in a blur while straining one's patience, prudence and perspiration!
After a half-year hiatus, Cyndi Cain returns with her heart-felt, inspiring column that goes beneath the surface to reveal emotions that God wants emoted, especially from mothers who bear the suffering of so many. In this issue she begins her take on the pilgrimage the family took to Europe in May. Anyone who has ever taken one of those "organized tours" knows only too well the roadblocks and hassles they never tell you about in the brochures. This year no one with Regina Tours even bothered to notify anyone that those traveling during the jubilee year would do a lot of walking, and then more walking in the heat of an early summer sun with little time to stop and smell the roses or take in important religious sites. All the while empty air-conditioned buses sat with their motors running on the edge of town waiting impatiently for the "foreign legion" to reach their destination. For her column, entitled Renaissance of resistance see SYMPHONY OF SUFFERING

Appreciation of the Great Commandmants |
Today we continue our series in the search to uncover the wonderful treasures of the Church contained in the great Deposit of Faith. We present the second of a two part catechesis on the Great Commandments as explained in My Catholic Faith and how these summarize the Ten Commandments given to Moses and made simpler by Our Lord in Matthew 22: 36-39. For part two in the 182nd installment, see APPRECIATING THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF OUR FAITH
