On September 25th, columnist Pat Ludwa revisits Pope Paul VI's landmark encyclical Humanae Vitae from July 29, 1968 on the Church's teaching on marriage and issues related to marriage. It was intended to rein in those who decided they could take it upon themselves to practice birth control the way they wanted. Sadly too many ignored it and we've paid ever since, with many becoming 'cafeteria catholics.'

On September 27th, the Feast of Saint Vincent de Paul, in his Pro-Life Prescriptions column Dr. Frank Joseph cautions all of the great dangers of the Abortion Pill, RU-486, or whatever sacharine and misleading marketing name they want to put on it. He lays out the difference between the effects of the pill as opposed to childbirth.

THURSDAY
On September 28th we continue our catechesis on the First Commandment in our APPRECIATION OF THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF OUR FAITH series. This week we treat Religion and Superstition and what is not only not appropriate for Catholics, but forbidden by Catholics to participate in. In this day of new age gimmicks, it is important to know the traps and lures of superstitions that can easily lead us into sin and away from the Church.
