    Bishop Robert Lynch - photo from Diocesan siteDiocese of St. Petersburg in Florida    In our editorial this week, we address the Bishop of the Diocese of St. Petersburg Bishop Robert Lynch in asking him why he would want to take away the Heart of our Faith, why he wants to deprive the good people of West Florida from giving proper worship and adoration to the fullness of Jesus, present Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Most Blessed Sacrament. We ask him because that is exactly what he has done with his recent directives and guidelines to his flock that, in essence, eliminates Perpetual Adoration in his see, and curtails times of Adoration in all parishes. He bases his arguments on the same claptrap that Call To Action, we are church and RENEW 2000 are fomenting and this greatly alarms us. In all respect to his episcopal office as Apostolic successor, we still need to bring it to the attention of all because the message we are getting from him differs greatly from what we are hearing from Rome and from many other sees in America where the pendulum shows a definite swing back to reverence and exposition of Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist. Devotion to Mary started in the early centuries and it was Saint Alcuin a millennium ago who promulgated special Votive Masses to honor the Mother of God.

    On September 24th we begin a series of four installments of the important document Dominus Jesus released by the Holy See on September 5th this year by Cardinal Ratzinger's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith directly addressing the doctrine of "No Salvation Outside the Church."
    MONDAY

    On September 25th, columnist Pat Ludwa revisits Pope Paul VI's landmark encyclical Humanae Vitae from July 29, 1968 on the Church's teaching on marriage and issues related to marriage. It was intended to rein in those who decided they could take it upon themselves to practice birth control the way they wanted. Sadly too many ignored it and we've paid ever since, with many becoming 'cafeteria catholics.'

    On September 26th we bring you the eleventh installment of Cyndi Cain's inspirational SYMPHONY OF SUFFERING as she shares the enlightenment she received on the Mystical Body of Christ and how we are responsible for the wellness of the Body of Christ through our virtuous living and defense of the Sanctity of Life against the culture of death.

    On September 27th, the Feast of Saint Vincent de Paul, in his Pro-Life Prescriptions column Dr. Frank Joseph cautions all of the great dangers of the Abortion Pill, RU-486, or whatever sacharine and misleading marketing name they want to put on it. He lays out the difference between the effects of the pill as opposed to childbirth.

    On September 28th we continue our catechesis on the First Commandment in our APPRECIATION OF THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF OUR FAITH series. This week we treat Religion and Superstition and what is not only not appropriate for Catholics, but forbidden by Catholics to participate in. In this day of new age gimmicks, it is important to know the traps and lures of superstitions that can easily lead us into sin and away from the Church.
