"I Thirst." John 19: 28
"There are times when we want to flee from Our Lord, just as all but one of the Apostles did. We do not want to profess His Holy Name publicly. We do not want to work for the establishment of His Social Kingship and to restore the primacy of the See of Peter as the ultimate arbiter on matters of faith and morals - and on matters of fundamental justice. We just want to keep our mouths shut and to keep out of trouble, just as the Apostles left our Lord to be manhandled by the Sanhedrin prior to the night He spent in prison, alone and abandoned."
In today's issue Thomas A. Droleskey, Ph.D. helps prepare us for Passion Sunday with a thought-provoking commentary on the essence of thirsting for souls, thirsting for Christ, for Truth. He shows us that our thirst can be satiated only through imbibing all the truths of His Church as passed down by Him to His Apostles and continued through the ages via Divine Revelation in the great Deposit of Faith. He asks us to drink in these truths and live them, beginning with the fullness of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Therein the unending fountain of grace and mercy pours forth for us as the fulfillment of the Old Covenant in the sacrificial lamb to the fullness of the New in the Immolated Lamb Who conquered death for all who follow His teachings fully. The clash of past and present must be resolved for the good of the future
"Liturgically, traditionalists judge the Novus Ordo in light of the Mass of Pius V and the neo-conservatives judge the Tridentine Mass, as it is called, in light of the Novus Ordo."
Today we complete an excellent two-part treatise by Father Chad Ripperger, professor of theology for the Priestly Order of Saint Peter Seminary in Lincoln, Nebraska - a diocese with a strong, orthodox shepherd in Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz. Many Catholics have been confused on what to believe and why the great chasm between modernist thinking and orthodox thinking within the Church, between the bishops. Why has the amchurch gained such credence with so many neo-conservatives? And why do Traditionalists oppose this direction many in the hierarchy have taken? Fr. Chad puts it as well as we have read yet. He syllogizes exactly what happened, the mindset of why and how extrinsic tradition was discarded. Note, our series Gift of Faith will run tomorrow. For the second of his masterpiece two part argument, see Exspectans exspectavibus Ecclesia Dei
Bishop Moynihan: We implore you to call New York Congressman Maurice Hinchey to task for his unyielding pro-abortion stance.
Today's "Herod's Hero" is the Democratic Congressman from the Catskills and Hudson Valley in South Central New York State, the Honorable Maurice Hinchey. There's nothing honorable about how he, as a 'Catholic,' has promoted the culture of death. We call on him to repent and for his shepherd in diocese he represents Bishop James M. Moynihan, along with Hinchey's ruling prelate in Washington D.C. Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, to issue the ultimatum of the "Bell, Book, and Candle" if he will not hear even the Church. We beg of the Bishops, to stand up for the Roman Catholic Church, to exact the discipline all Catholics are expected to follow. By Hinchey's pro-abortion record during his 5 terms in office he has turned away from God by showing a disdain for Catholic doctrine and being a willing accomplice to satan. We implore him to amend his ways, to turn away from embracing the pro-abort stance with no mercy for the lives of millions of unborn. For another betrayer who seeks to perpetuate the culture of death and slay the innocents, see HEROD'S HEROES

We nail Him to the cross everytime we sin.
In her column today, Sister Mary Lucy Astuto asks us to truly understand what Jesus suffered for us. She continues her meditations on Calvary and the excruciating pain Our Lord suffered for us and because of us. His Blessed Mother suffered as well, not in pity, but in knowing the Divine Will and realizing how many had and will cause even more unnecessary torture to her Divine Son. Do we soothe his wounds or open them wider by our actions? Perhaps the journey Sister asks you to take with her will answer that better. For her column Have you been to Calvary? part two, see Getting to the Heart of the Matter.

Radiation Charges against Vatican Radio antenna totally false
A group of noted and respected Italian scientists wrote directly to Italy's president and the EUC president pointing out that the charges against the Vatican that its antenna was emitting electromagnetic contamination are completely unfounded and wanted authorities to know the report making that claim was totally unscientific. Yet, unfortunately damage has been done as some politicians used it to bash the Church and the Holy See in hopes of getting elected at the expense of the fear factor. For more, see News from ROME

Anniversary of the oldest Pope ever elected!
On this day 810 years ago in 1191 the 175th successor of Peter was chosen. He was Pope Celestine III, the oldest Pope to ever be elected for he was 85 when chosen. Though many expected him to live only a few years, he surprised everyone and lived until he was 92. During his seven-year pontificate he was successful in assuring pilgrims in the Holy Land would have the protection of the Order of Teutonic Knights as a result of the Third Crusade during Celestine's papacy. Passion is blind without knowledge
"Passion is not a reflex like the watering of a dog's mouth in the presence of food. It is true that there are many similarities between passion in animals and passion in man, but it must never be forgotten that that in man, passion cannot operate unless something is known."
